Welcome to the River Ridge Chiropractic Blog

Hi, I’m Dr. Bart Hodgins, a chiropractor in Asheville, NC. Over the past ten years, I have developed a comprehensive approach to health care that supports the patient on multiple levels.

I use a combination of different health care approaches, including chiropractic, decompression, acupuncture, herbal therapy, orthotics, exercise, diet, and orthopedic supports to create a tailored health plan. This enables me to find faster and more lasting approaches to both common and more concerning health issues.

For each new patient, and before each treatment plan, I perform a series of diagnostic tests to determine what treatment plan is best for you. I can often isolate which joint needs adjustment without x-rays. X-rays are great for helping determine disease process but do not show how the joint is moving which is fundamental to helping resolve the issue. It is also important to determine whether the source of the issue is caused by soft tissue, or if it is the result of a restricted joint.

If the issue is soft tissue, I treat the area with soft tissue techniques like stretches, strengthening or even the use of acupuncture. If the joint mechanics need to be re-adjusted, I perform a chiropractic adjustment. Sometimes a combination of the methods is needed to restore balance. This ensures the most effective form of treatment.
